Description

This course is a continuation of design with project at an intermediate level focusing on the ways in which the nature of structural systems and building materials affect and inform architectural design. Students must be able to select building materials and assembles to satisfy the requirements of building programs as an integral part of the design and learn the concepts of building design and how to creatively organize design and involve projects of medium programs and factors affecting design such as building materials and constructional methods, in addition to environmental and climatic factors, together with human comfort requirements, to get livable projects. Emphasis should be made on the principles of design and problem-solving together with design principles explored through studio projects and presentations. Emphasis should also be made on recreation and commercial projects with medium programmers and applied to multi-level recreational and commercial projects within recreational districts with respect to building materials and constructional methods together with site context and climatic aspects.
