Description
This course introduces the fundamental principles of nuclear pharmacy and radiopharmaceuticals, with emphasis on the preparation, quality assurance, safe handling, and clinical applications of radioactive pharmaceutical products. Students study the characteristics and quality specifications of radiopharmaceuticals, the principles of nuclear pharmacy practice, radiation protection and safety regulations, and the use of ionizing radiation in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The course also examines the pharmacokinetics, biodistribution, and biological behavior of radiopharmaceuticals within the human body, together with their role in contemporary nuclear medicine.
