Description
This course covers the following topics: Random processes which include stationarity, ergodicity, transmission of RP through linear time-invariant filter, noise. Baseband pulse transmission which incude: matched filter, intersymbol interference, partial reponse signalling and equalization. Signal-space analysis: geometric representation of signals, maximum likelihood procedure, probability of symbol error. Passband digital transmission: digital modulation technique: ASK, FSK, PSK, and QAM, coherent detection, non-coherent detection and synchronization.
