The English Language Centre (ELC) at Yarmouk Private University (YPU) aims at equipping the students with a solid foundation of English language competency that will not only serve academic purposes in their studies at YPU,

Teachers pride themselves on having a part in human development. However, Language teachers are even prouder because each language a student learns is almost like being a different human with all his/ her intellect and culture.

The ELC at YPU offers a range of courses falling within two stages:

· Remedial courses (non-credited)

· Credited courses

Conforming to our English Language Centre (ELC) and YPU objectives, we place great value on the way English is taught at ELC, and we embrace a set of principles in our teaching practice. First and foremost, our teaching is grounded in the firm belief that learning is the joint responsibility of the teachers and the learners.
