Students enrolled at YPU can change the majors for which they first registered at the end of the first year provided that there are availability of spaces

If add and drop period passed in a regular semester and a student had not registered in that semester or deferred admission, he/she is considered to have a discontinuation of study.

• Every student’s GPA is calculated at the end of every semester. It is the sum total of the grades obtained in the courses studied in a semester after multiplying each grade by the result of dividing the number of the course credit hours by the credit hours the student finished in the semester.

Students could defer their studies at YPU at least one semester following their matriculation for a period of four successive or alternate semesters.

1. The academic year consists of two compulsory semesters and an optional summer course. A compulsory semester goes over a period of 17 weeks and an optional one consisting of nine weeks.

In all courses, students are evaluated during the semester based on exams, homework, and different activities aligning with the nature of the course, reflecting students’ understanding of the course content. Students’ evaluation criteria in all courses include the following.

1. A Midterm Exam allotted 30% of course grade.
